the binding element, depress

either end of the foot switch. To

close the binding element,

depress the foot switch at the

same end.

Another feature of the foot

switch is that it may be used to

open or to close the binding

partially by tapping it lightly.

This is useful when binding

thick books where slight

adjustment of the element may

be necessary. If you close the

book too much, you can tap it

back open by depressing the

opposite end of the foot pedal.

Oval Element Support Posts

If you will be using 1 1/2" (38

mm) or larger binding elements

the oval element support posts

can be rotated to add extra

support to the element. Rotate

the oval element support posts

back out of the way for smaller

bindings (see Figure 2).

OPERATING CONTROLS

I

Interruttore a pedale

per la legatura

L’interruttore a pedale

alternativo è utile per grossi

lavori di legatura poiché

consente all’operatore di

mantenere libere le mani. Per

aprire l’elemento di legatura,

premere una delle due

estremità del pedale a scelta.

Per chiudere l’elemento di

legatura, premere di nuovo la

stessa estremità del pedale.

Un’altra caratteristica

dell’interruttore a pedale

consiste nel fatto che può

essere usato per aprire o per

chiudere parzialmente la

legatura con un lieve

movimento di pressione. Questa

opzione è particolarmente utile

per la legatura di libri spessi,

che potrebbe richiedere una

piccola regolazione

dell’elemento. Se il libro fosse

chiuso eccessivamente, basta

premere l’estremità opposta del

pedale per riaprirlo.

Perni di supporto per

elementi ovali

Se occorre usare elementi di

legatura da 38 mm o più grandi,

i perni di supporto per elementi

ovali possono essere ruotati per

ottenere un maggiore supporto

dell’elemento. I perni di

supporto per elementi ovali

possono essere nuovamente

spostati verso l’esterno quando

occorre eseguire lavori di

legatura più piccoli (vedere la

Figura 2).
